Breaking: NLC to commence strike action on August 2nd, gives FG 7-days ultimatum over fuel price hike, others

The Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been given a seven-day deadline to reverse all perceived anti-poor measures, including the recent increase in the price of gasoline at the pump, or face an ongoing nationwide strike beginning on August 2, 2023.

Accordingly, the NLC has ordered all of its affiliates and state councils to immediately start mobilizing workers and other Nigerians, including civil society allies, for a protracted strike and massive protests in the event that the government does not comply with its demands, a source made it know to Platinum Times Nigeria.

According to sources, the NLC’s Central Working Committee, CWC, met on Tuesday, July 25, in Abuja Labour House, and this was one of the decisions made there.
