Hajiya Wanka, PDP Deputy Women Leader resigns

Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deputy national women’s leader, resigned her position to take a commission in Bauchi State.

Wanka stated in her resignation letter, copies of which were provided to journalists in Bauchi, that she was leaving the position as a result of being given the chance to serve as commissioner by Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the acting national chairman of the party.

She thanked Governor Mohammed for appointing her to his cabinet and the opposition PDP’s national leadership for giving her the uncommon opportunity to serve as the party’s deputy national women leader in the letter.

Wanka claimed that while the expertise she obtained while acting as the party’s deputy national women’s leader could not be measured, it would significantly improve her performance as a commissioner in the state of Bauchi.

Wanka was on the list of 24 commissioner nominees that Governor Mohammed forwarded to the State House of Assembly, where they were reviewed and approved.

The PDP National Working Committee (NWC) has welcomed Hajiya Wanka’s nomination as a commissioner in the Bauchi State Executive Council and expressed its congratulations.

In a press release issued on Monday, Debo Ologunagba, the national publicity secretary of the main opposition party, praised Wanka’s appointment by Governor Mohammed as yet another example of her selfless service, keen intellect, competence, leadership abilities, and patriotism in support of the advancement of the PDP, Bauchi State, and the entire country.

The National Working Committee praised Hajiya Wanka’s technical expertise and expressed pride at having witnessed her sense of service humility, dedication to duty, and extraordinary capacity for leadership, particularly in her capacity as the Deputy National Woman Leader and other assignments given to her by the Party.

The party then praised Governor Mohammed for the appointment, stressing that it demonstrated his commitment to selecting the best people possible to assist him in running Bauchi State.
