Police nabs three for murder of Police officer in Bauchi

Three suspects have been detained by the Bauchi State Police Command in connection with the brutal murder of a police officer in Konkiyel village, Darazo Local Government Area.

The policeman known as PC Bala Nazifi Magaji was serving at Darazo Divisional Police Headquarters until death.

On July 25, 2023, while performing official duties at Anguwar Abuja in Konkiyel community, he was allegedly attacked.

Consequently, a command inquiry resulted in the arrests.

Aminu Mohammed, 35, of Anguwar Sarkin in the village of Baka Konkiyel, was named as the main suspect.

Abdullahi Abubakar, 23, of Bakin Kasuwa, Konkiyel village, and Balarabe Abubakar, 34, are the other suspects.

Their arrest was announced in a statement released on Wednesday by the command’s spokesman, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil.

He claimed that the accused admitted to the grisly blade and stick murder of the police officer.

Aminu Mohammed is said to have admitted to using a machete to stab the cop repeatedly in the back while others attacked him in the head with rocks and sticks. The officer died as a result of his injuries, which were said to be many.

Six additional gang members who are on the run are being sought after, according to Wakil.
