Bandits storm Plateau community, kill 20 in fresh attack

In the Heipang District of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State in North Central Nigeria, assailants are said to have killed twenty people and injured around ten more.
Residents of the neighborhood claimed that the attackers entered the neighborhood while they were asleep on Thursday morning, according to a report by Channels Television.
The community’s vigilantes, according to the locals, were unable to repel the invaders because to their superior firepower compared to the vigilantes’ Dane firearms.
Four of the vigilantes were allegedly killed in the duel with the assailants while they set some homes on fire, killing inhabitants who were asleep and unable to flee the surprise attack.
James Mark Pam, a local who lost five relatives including his brother Dung Mark, the wife, and three children—said the attackers broke into the property, burned the house on fire, and murdered everyone inside while they were asleep.
The Plateau State Police Command’s public relations officer, DSP Alfred Alabo, confirmed the event and said that the community’s security has been strengthened with police on the lookout for the attackers.
