Its ‘senseless’ – Gov Mutfwang speaks on Plateau killings

The brutal incident that took place in the early hours of Thursday in the Heipang hamlet of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area has been strongly condemned by Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State.

The governor also condemned the killings during the latest attacks in various communities in Mangu Local Government Area, where additional lives were lost, according to a statement released by the director of press and public affairs, Gyang Bere.

In order to stop the needless killings of innocent people in the rural communities of the state’s Mangu and Barkin-Ladi local government areas, Governor Mutfwang urged security services to step up their efforts.

In order to stop the “senseless” attacks, he bemoaned the deteriorating security conditions in some areas of the state and asked for increased cooperation between community leaders and security officials.

Regardless of religion or nationality, Governor Mutfwang emphasized the value of peace and harmony among all citizens for the stability, progress, and expansion of the state.

He expressed condolences for the impacted communities and the relatives of the deceased while assuring of the government’s commitment to addressing the problems.

He prayed for consolation for the bereaved residents of Heipang and Mangu and asked them to utilize the security and information center set up by the state government to share security information for quick response to stop the occurrence of future attacks.
