Just In: DHQ breaks silence on Niger State convoy attack, Says 36 soldiers killed
On Thursday, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) reported that 36 officers had died in Niger State.
When Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, provided a breakdown of casualties in the August 14, 2023, helicopter evacuation crash and ambush of troops in Niger State, he made this point clear.
The breakdown was presented at the Defense Media Operations’ biweekly briefing.

He reiterated that an investigation is still ongoing to ascertain the reason of the helicopter accident when questioned about it. He also urged residents to be aware of terrorist propaganda and to be patriotic.
