Amid political tension, Fubara approves N100,000 Christmas bonus for Rivers civil servants

In an effort to calm the political tempest in Rivers State, Governor Simi Fubara has approved the payment of a N100,000 Christmas bonus to public officials on the government payroll.
Warisenibo Johnson, the Commissioner of Information and Communications, made the announcement on Tuesday.
According to him, the governor signed off on the bonus payment on Tuesday, allowing staff to enjoy a joyous Yuletide holiday this year.
The news came only hours after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arranged eight-point settlement to end the standoff between Gov. Fubara and the incumbent Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
In response to the crisis resolution agreement, Fubara stated that there is no price too high to pay for peace to triumph.
“There is no price that will be too big to pay to ensure peace prevails”, he stated.
