Aminu Maida gets Senate approval as Executive Vice Chairman NCC

The Senate has accepted Dr. Aminu Maida’s appointment as Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC).

Sen. Bilbis Ikra (APC-Zamfara), chairman of the Committee on Communication, delivered its report on Thursday, which was then adopted by the Committee of the Whole.

While presenting the report, Ikra asked the Senate to consider President Bola Tinubu’s request for Maida’s confirmation as NCC Chairman.

He noted that the request was in accordance with Section 8 (1) of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) Establishment Act, 2003.

He claimed that Maida had been vetted by the committee and had received all necessary security clearances, training, job experience, competency, and regulatory abilities to ensure the NCC’s success.

As a result, he begged the Senate to approve the appointment.

The Senate later accepted Aminu Maida’s appointment as the NCC’s executive vice chairman.
