Anxiety as heavy security mounts INEC office in Lokoja

Security operatives have taken over the office premises of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, following an alleged conspiracy by suspected arsonists to burn it down.
According to Platinum Times, men from the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army, and other security agencies were observed with armoured personnel carriers ready to repel any invasion of the INEC office.
It was also discovered that the always-busy post office, where business operations abound on a regular basis, had been vacated.
Motorists were also compelled to reroute to other routes, particularly those leading to Abuja, Nataco, and the Felele axis.
According to Platinum Times, one of the political parties accused the other of allegedly funding thugs to destroy electoral materials at the INEC office.
