Apologise to Nigerians – Oby Ezekwesili tells DSS over Emefiele’s treatment
Oby Ezekwesili, a former minister of education, has urged the Department of State Services (DSS) to apologize to Nigerians for its handling of the case involving suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele.
Ezekwesili claimed the DSS misled Nigerians over the accusations made against Emefiele.
She questioned why Emefiele would be accused of unlawful firearm ownership by the secret police.
The former minister said in a tweet that the DSS only charged Emefiele for illegally possessing firearms, notwithstanding the harm caused by monetary policy.
According to Ezekwesili: “@OfficialDSSNG must immediately apologize to Nigerians for daring to take citizens for a ride on this Emefiele’s court case. Imagine.
“So after all the monetary policy damage his boss @MBuhari and the former
@cenbank committed against the Nigerian economy and people, it is for “illegal possession of firearms” that State Security charged him to court. Nonsense.”
