Atiku to attend IUU conference as key speaker in Romania

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the country’s educational system.

The former vice president made this declaration on Thursday when a delegation from the International Union of Universities, IUU, paid him a courtesy visit in his Abuja residence, according to a statement by Mr. Abubakar’s media assistant, AbdulRasheed Shehu.

The former vice president promised to keep funding young and future generations’ educational advancement.

He urged the organizers to continue their efforts to broaden the boundaries of learning and knowledge on a worldwide scale while accepting the invitation to join the Romania Forum for Economic and Cultural Exchange in Bucharest, Romania.

He continued by saying that he wanted to see the AUN accepted into the elite group of worldwide universities.

Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, president and founder of the Maryam Abacha American University, was also praised by Mr. Abubakar for his dedication to making the Maryam Abacha University a renowned fortress of study.

Mr. Gwarzo, who was with the guests, made a statement in which he praised Mr. Abubakar for his leadership and vital contributions to the advancement of education in Nigeria.

Additionally, he encouraged the former vice president to take use of the chance to attend international conferences so that others may benefit from his depth of expertise. He did this while praising the achievements made by AUN in teaching and research.

Prof. Mohammed Kher AlGabani, who was also present, explained that the visit to Mr. Abubakar was made in recognition of his person as an achiever. The IUU, an international academic union with over 1,500 academics distributed among about 60 countries, organizes 41 international conferences and 20 exhibitions each year.

He added that the former vice president is a successful businessman, a shrewd politician, and a traditional title holder in a multicultural country like Nigeria, calling him a man of many parts who is deserving of praise.

For founding the American University of Nigeria, or AUN, he complimented Mr. Abubakar.
