Bauchi Emirate dismisses six traditional title holders

Six newly appointed traditional titleholders in the Galambi District Area have been ousted by the Bauchi Emirate Council.

The council stated that the traditional rulers’ turbaning process did not follow set norms.

The District Head of Galambi, Alh. Shehu Adamu Jumba, the Danlawal of Bauchi Emirate, appointed and turbaned traditional rulers such as Galadiman Danlawal, Majidadin Danlawal, Wakilin Dokan Danlawal, Wakilin Gonan Danlawal, Sarkin Dajin Danlawal, and Hardon Danlawal, according to Platinum Times. The Emirate Council, on the other hand, was not pleased with this decision.

The decision to depose the traditional rulers was announced in a statement made by Malam Babangida Hassan Jahun, the Bauchi Emirate Council’s chief information officer, after a council meeting.

The district head has been barred from making such appointments for one year, beginning November 7, 2023, according to the statement.

He was also told to rigorously follow established procedures for future turbaning proceedings.
