Benue Tribunal upholds Abba Moro’s victory, trashes APC’s petition

Senator Abba Moro of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been declared victorious in the Benue South senatorial election on February 25 by the National and State Assembly Election Tribunal, which is situated in Makurdi, Benue State.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Dan Onjeh, submitted a petition to the tribunal asking for the election of Moro to be declared invalid.
However, the tribunal determined that the petitioner’s evidence was “weak and porous” and dismissed it as a result.
In response to the situation, Onjeh criticized the tribunal’s decision and advised his supporters to maintain their composure.
After reviewing the verdict, he said, his attorneys will provide him advice on the next course of action.
