BREAKING: CBN dismisses 5 directors

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed five of its directors.
The dismissal followed attempts to reform the apex bank.
Nairametrics reported that the impacted officials had received termination notifications from March 15th, 2024.
Although the details and reasons for the dismissal of these top officials remain unclear, sources within the bank revealed that the directors affected include the Trade and Exchange Department, Securities Department, Development Finance Department, and Purchasing and Support Services Department.
According to sources, these directors were initially relocated to FSS 2020, a bank division under the Governor’s Directorate situated in Abuja’s Maitama District, on November 24th, 2023, and put in a holding pattern until further directions.
Samuel Chukwuyem Okojere, Abdulmumin Abdulsalam Isa, Dr. Elizabeth Amos Kwaghe, Dr. Maureen Omolola Chukwurah, and Mr. Arinze Stanley were among the directors who were transferred to the FSS 2020 division on November 24th, the previous year.
The sources could not confirm whether those being disengaged were involved in any wrongdoing.
