BREAKING: Customs intercepts ammunitions, military uniform at Lagos Port
The Tin-Can Island Command of Nigeria Customs intercepted a shipment of arms and ammunition reportedly smuggled into the country by a criminal organization.
Military camouflage and illegal narcotics like Colorado were among the things intercepted.
Pump action firearms and automatic single barrel rifles were among the weapons discovered.
Though the circumstances of the interception are still unclear as of press time, sources say the weaponry were discovered during an examination of consignments imported into the country.
As of press time, it was unclear whether anyone had been arrested.
The interception comes just eight months after Customs confiscated 31 different types of guns at Lagos’ Tin-Can and Multi-Purpose Terminals (PTML) ports.
Mr. Adewale Adeniyi, Comptroller-General of Customs, informed press that two individuals had been apprehended in connection with the seizure. (DailyTrust)
