On Thursday night, a fire broke out at the Transmission Company of Nigeria transmission substation in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State.
The 330 kilovolt (kV) plant was apparently engulfed in flames, while the exact reason is unknown.
The tragedy occurs within 24 hours after a national energy grid meltdown caused by a fire breakout.
Nafiu Abubakar, the spokesperson for the Kebbi State Police Command, confirmed the event to Channels Television on Friday.
Abubakar, on the other hand, stated that he did not have details of the occurrence at the time and sent our correspondent to the TCN for more information on the likely causes of the fire.
Attempts to contact TCN, however, proved futile.
