BREAKING: Gunmen storm Ekiti community, Ambush, kill two monarch
Two traditional rulers in Ekiti State were slain by suspected unknown gunmen.
The monarchs were claimed to be returning from a security meeting in Irele-Ekiti in a car driven by one of their colleagues, the Alara of Ikole Ekiti, when they were ambushed by gunmen in Ikole Local Government Area, Ekiti State, on Monday.
According to Platinum Times, the two traditional rulers, the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olushola, and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsakin, were slain in the ambush, but Oba Adebayo Fatoba, the Alara of Ara Ikole-Ekiti, escaped.
Confirming the occurrence, Michael Ogungbemi, chairman of the Ajoni Local Council Development Area, stated that the gunmen attempted to kidnap three traditional rulers.
