BREAKING: Tinubu appoint Jalal Arabi NAHCON Chairman

Alhaji Jalal Ahmad Arabi has been appointed by President Bola Tinubu as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for a four-year first term.

Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, the departing Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, was also given the go-ahead by the president to begin a three-month pre-retirement leave in accordance with Public Service Rule (PSR) 120243, which will take effect on October 18, 2023, and will last until his retirement from the Commission on January 17, 2023.

Alhaji Jalal Ahmad Arabi, the new Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), will take over in an acting capacity on October 18, 2023, and continue to serve in that capacity for a further four years, starting on January 17, 2023.

Additionally, Tinubu gave his approval for the NAHCON Board’s dissolution.

According to Ajuri Ngelale, the president’s special adviser on media and publicity, the new NAHCON leadership must serve with the utmost respect for Allah and obedience to the rules of duty as laid out in the Holy Qur’an.
