BREAKING:(Plateau killings) Protesting women set Bokkos monarch house on fire

Protesting women set fire to the home of Michal Monday Adanchi, the District Head of Bokkos town in Bokkos Local Government Area, on Friday afternoon.

The incident happened at 12:30 a.m., according to a local source.

According to the source, the ladies burned the house after certain members of the community were arrested for apparent involvement in recent deaths in the area, and the traditional ruler’s mansion and administrative office were also destroyed.

“The incident began at the police station, where they expressed their outrage over the arrest of some community members.” They went to the traditional ruler’s residence after leaving the police station, claiming that he was a sellout. “They set fire to the house a few minutes after arriving,” the insider added.

Soldiers appeared in the area and dispersed the protesting women, according to our correspondent.

DSP Alabo Alfred, the state police command’s spokeswoman, said he will contact the area’s DPO and get back to our correspondent.
