‘Calm Down’, Rema’s hit song emerge most streamed African song in US history

Divine Ikubor, also known as Rema, a sensational Nigerian musician, has made history by having his hit song “Calm Down” become the most streamed African song in the history of the United States of America, or USA.

‘Calm Down’ defeated CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ to accomplish the feat.

This was announced on Friday by the American music data collection website Chart Data.

The analytics company stated that “@heisrema’s ‘Calm Down’ has surpassed @ckay_yo’s ‘love nwantiti’ to become the most streamed Afrobeats song in US history.”

On Spotify and YouTube, the song has had more than half a billion streams in total.

‘Calm Down’, according to Platinum Times, peaked at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100, making it the highest-peaking Nigerian single ever. The remix featured American diva Selena Gomez.

Additionally, the song is the first African song to top the American radio charts.
