CCT: Betta Edu storms Ogun to sign social register, relief materials to flood victims
Currently in Ogun State, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Betta Edu is distributing relief supplies to Isheri flooding victims and approving the social register that will be utilized for the conditional cash transfer from the federal government.
On Friday night, Edu traveled to Ogun State and met with Governor Dapo Abiodun at his office in the state capital of Abeokuta, Oke-Mosan.
Speaking to reporters, the minister stated that “President Bola Tinubu is concerned the flooding situation” in Isheri and that she will visit the victims of the flood tragedy there to ease any suffering they may be feeling at the moment.
Edu revealed that her purpose for being in Ogun is to observe things for herself, assess the situation, gather information on the casualties, and distribute relief supplies to people impacted by the storm.
She continued by saying that on Saturday, she will approve the Ogun State social register, enabling state beneficiaries to begin receiving the N25,000 conditional cash transfer.
In order to help as many people as possible escape poverty, the mainistry would, among other things, assist dealers in the Adire industry.
