Following a false report of suspected genital theft, a furious mob viciously attacked and battered Dr. Aime, a pastor of the Living Faith Church and lecturer at the Akawe Torkula Polytechnic Makurdi in Benue State, to a pulp.
The issue allegedly started on Wednesday while Dr. Aime was preaching during a gospel outreach in the Wurukum area of Makurdi.
This was after he touched a young man and asked him to pray for him.
The young man reportedly made a warning sound as his penis disappeared.
Sources claim that before military and law enforcement personnel arrived to save the preacher, Okada riders gathered him and almost lynched him.
After being taken to the E Divisional Police in Makurdi, Pastor Aime and the supposed victim of genital theft were told that the alarm was false and that the genital that had been stolen was still in place.
The DPO of Makurdi’s E Divisional Police announced that anyone who made up reports of genital theft in the state will face legal action.
The young man’s family reportedly wants the authorities not to arrest him after he raised the false alarm.
The Benue State Police Command spokesperson, Catherine Anene, was not available for comment at the time of publication.
