Coup: Emir Sanusi meets Junta in Niger (photos)

The leader of the coup in the Niger Republic, General Abdourahmane Tchiani, met with the 14th emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, on Wednesday in Niamey, the nation’s capital.
The purpose of the gathering was to talk about the country’s present political standstill caused by the most recent coup.
As part of the Dialogue process started by ECOWAS, Sanusi, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, was joined by the Sultan of Damagaram.
The regional body’s seven-day deadline for the military junta to reinstate ousted President Muhammed Bazoum to his position has now passed.
