Cross River dep gov speaks on feud between APC members

Mr Peter Odey, Deputy Governor of Cross River State, has stated that the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), does not discriminate between existing and new members.

DAILY POST recalls that when former Gov. Ben Ayade moved from the PDP to the APC on May 20, 2021, veteran party members were upset that only those who defected with him were given government posts.

However, the deputy governor, who met with Mike Usibe, former Chairman of Yala Local Government Council and PDP Commissioner for New Cities Development, on Saturday in Igoli Ogoja, promised them of equal opportunities.

Odey stated that the APC does not discriminate between old and new members, using himself as an example, having been nominated for election as Deputy Governor barely nine months after joining the party.

He told the defectors that Otu’s government would welcome them and that their contributions would be valued within the party.

He said that Usibe’s political influence stretched beyond Yala to the Ogoj LGA.

Speaking at the ceremony, the chapter chairs of Yala, Mr. Solomon Ogar, and Ogoja, Hon. Paul Adinye, noted that Ubise’s defection to the party removed the zone’s main resistance.
