Nigerian afrobeat singer David Adeleke, often known as Davido, has announced a 300 million Naira donation to orphanages around the country.
Davido revealed this in a message on his X, formerly Twitter, account on Tuesday. He also stated that he will release information on the disbursement on Wednesday.
Davido, along with his organization, the David Adeleke organization, provided annual donations to orphans.
He wrote,
“I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the Nation ❤️ .. details of disbursement tomorrow.”
This is not the first time Davido has supported foster homes in Nigeria.
According to Punch report in November 2021, Davido donated N250 million to 292 orphanages in celebration of his 29th birthday.
In July 2023, the artist was reported to have donated N237 million to over 400 Nigerian orphanages.
