A Divisional Police Officer, DPO, named Bako Amgbanshin, has been killed by armed men terrorizing areas of Rivers State.
According to information obtained by Platinum Times, the terrible incident took place on Friday night in Ahoada East Local Government Area of the State.
According to reports, the attackers attacked the DPO and his men as they were conducting a raid on several criminal hideouts in the Ahoada East axis.
Before the DPO was apprehended, slain, and his body dismembered, the operatives had engaged the criminals in a gunfight.
The skull, hand, and private portion of Angbanshin were severed with many deep machete cuts, according to a viral video that went viral on the Internet on Friday evening.
The gunmen may be seen singing victory songs in the footage that our correspondent saw as his chopped body parts covered the ground.
Grace Iringe Koko, the State Police Public Relations Officer, verified the event when contacted by Platinum Times but withheld further information.
The PPRO offered nothing more than “the report is true” in a conversation with our correspondent.
