A jail inmate at the Oke-Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State’s capital, shot and wounded a roadside vulcaniser.
This occurred on Friday, when several prisoners were being escorted out of the facility. However, one of the detainees snatched a warder’s firearm and fired bullets, striking the unnamed vulcanizer who was still in the area.
While the injured vulcanizer, who was shot in the stomach, was transported to a medical facility for treatment, the perpetrator was apprehended at the ‘C’ Division Police Station in Isale-Ojo, Ilorin metropolis.
