(Edo) More trouble for PDP as chieftain Mike Onolememen resigns from party

Mike Oziegbe Onolememen, a former minister of works and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, has resigned from the party.

Tony Azerbaijan, the party chairman in Edo State, has received the party chieftain’s resignation letter.

He claimed in his letter that he was no longer interested in becoming a member of the party.

Onolememen is a founder member of the main opposition party, having joined in 1998.

Godwin Obaseki, he claims, has treated the party as his personal property since joining a few years ago.

“I write to formally inform you and the entire members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that I am resigning my membership from the party, effective immediately,” he said.

He said that the decision followed due consultation following the protracted conflict in the party.

“I want to use the opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of the journey since I joined the party in 1998.”
