Eight killed, others injured as bandits launch midnight attack in Plateau

Eight people were killed and three others were injured in an attack by unidentified gunmen in the Adu Kwall district of Bassa Local Government Area in North Central Nigeria, Plateau State.
The attack occurred on Sunday evening in the community’s market square, just after people returned from Sunday morning service.
Musa Agah, the member representing Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency, was among the first to express condolences to the bereaved. He condemned the attack as brutal and criminal.

He pledged that legislatures will continue to establish legislation to deter such unjustified attacks in communities, and he urged the government to put such laws into effect for the benefit of citizens.
Danjuma Avu, who lost two of his children and six relatives in the tragic tragedy, described his dismay at the terrorists who entered the town and carried out the heinous attack, firing at people in the little market square.
According to Avu, after shooting people outside the building, the attackers went inside and shot two of his children who were on medication.
The deceased, who included five males, one female, and two minors, were buried in the village cemetery, while the injured are being treated at the hospital.
