Election didn’t take place in Kogi on Saturday – Dino Melaye

Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in last Saturday’s election, has asserted that no election took place in Kogi State.

Melaye spoke while defending his refusal to vote in the governorship race.

Melaye stated on Channels TV Politics Today that whether he voted or not was irrelevant.

Melaye finished third, with Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winning the race.

Reacting to the outcome of the controversial election, Melaye said,

“The issue of voting or not voting has no legal status. People win elections in prison.

“Legally, it has no relevance to the election. Whether I voted or not, it is immaterial.

“I don’t want to talk about it; there was no election in Kogi State on Saturday.”
