Enugu: Former- lawmaker, six others in police custody over alleged criminal activities

According to the Enugu State Police Command, seven people have been arrested for alleged criminal activities in the Enugu city, including a former councillor.
According to DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, the police collected six weapons, 16 live cartridges, and a stolen motor vehicle from the six suspects.
According to the PPRO, on December 6, police operatives from the Abakpa Police Division, in coordination with the Neighbourhood Watch Group, detained the former legislator, Henry Agbo Ogbonna, and six others.
He stated that the former legislator represented Ikiriki Ward 6, Enugu South Local Government Area.
“The suspect and cohorts, who escaped, had attacked their male victim, dispossessed him of his phones and snatched his Toyota Camry car in the process,” he said.
He disclosed that they were on the verge of escaping when police operatives swooped on them, arrested the suspect, and recovered one locally-made double-barreled pistol and the vehicle.
