Enugu Gov Tribunal: APGA’s Frank Nweke withdraws petition against Peter Mbah
Frank Nweke Jr., the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for governor of Enugu State in the March 18 election, has withdrawn his appeal against Governor Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
On Sunday, R.A.C.E Achara, the attorney for Nweke, who finished third in the governorship race with 17,983 votes to Mbah’s 160,895 votes, announced the withdrawal of the petition at the Enugu State Governorship race Petition Tribunal.
Achara said that in order to lessen the tribunal’s workload, it was now necessary to withdraw the petition that was filed on April 11.
As a result, the tribunal granted the request and dismissed the petition.
Nweke Jr., a minister in the Olusegun Obasanjo administration who confirmed the withdrawal, stated that he made the decision to withdraw the complaint against Mbah for private reasons.
