Ex Nigerian Ambassador to Kenya, Yusuf Yunusa passes on at 73

Ambassador Yusuf Yunusa, the immediate past Nigerian ambassador to Kenya, died at the age of 73.

After a brief illness, he died on Friday at the Yobe University Teaching Hospital in Damaturu.

Governor Mai Mala Buni, represented by Secretary to the State Government Baba Malam Wali, was among scores of dignitaries who attended the late ambassador’s burial prayers, which were led by Imam Shehu Goni Abba, Chief Imam of Nguru Emirate.

Buni praised the dead as an older statesman, a dedicated, honest, and experienced civil servant and technocrat who lived a selfless life.

He who begged to Almighty Allah (SWT) to pardon his flaws and grant him Jannatul Firdaus, as well as to give his family the strength to suffer the loss.

Late Ambassador Yusuf Yunusa was born in Nguru in 1950 and is survived by four wives, twenty-one children, several grandchildren, and brothers, including Engineer Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja, former Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA.
