Ex PDP Deputy gov, two others decamps to APC in Niger State

Ahmed Musa Ibeto, former Deputy Governor of Niger State and former Nigerian Ambassador to South Africa, and two other top stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ibrahim Egbo, a former House of Representatives member who represented the federal seat of Lapai Agaie, and Alhaji Abubakar Azozo, a former Niger State Commissioner of Water Resources, were the other two prominent leaders who defected from the PDP to the APC.
Ibeto and the other two candidates, who presented themselves at the state APC secretariat in Minna, predicated their decision on Governor Mohammed Umar Bago’s purposeful leadership style.
“APC is my home and I have returned home. There are many other people, including their followers from other political parties, that are on their way to APC,” he disclosed.
When asked if his decision was monetary or political appointment-induced, Ibeto said:
“My decision was based on my personal conviction because all the problems that forced me out of APC before are no longer there in the current administration of Mohammed Umar Bago.”
The state chairman of APC, Alh Aminu Musa Bobi, further disclosed that the party has started compiling a database for all political appointees in the state to make them accountable and accessible to their people at the grassroots level.
