FCT High Court workers ignores Labour strike order, open for activities
Workers at the Federal High Court (FHC) in Abuja ignored a strike call issued by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) on Wednesday.
The Abuja FHC was seen going about its routine business.
In the high-rise FHC complex, judges, staff, attorneys, and litigants worked without interruption.
Just like on Tuesday, about eight courts were in session.
An emergency meeting of all staff workers was scheduled for 11:00 a.m. today, according to a notice of a Congress meeting issued by the FHC’s Public Relations Officer, G.A. Maku, and sponsored by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN).
The notice reads:
“All members of staff are expected to converge at Ukeje Hall @11am this morning for an emergency meeting.
“This meeting is noteworthy as members will be briefed on the position of the union with regards to the ongoing NLC strike action and other important issues please.”
