FG reshuffles NASSCO managerial team

The federal government has announced the revamping of the National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office’s (NASSCO) executive team in order to ensure the successful implementation of Nigeria’s national social investment program.

Betta Edu, the minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation, made the announcement in a statement posted by her spokesman Rasheed Zubair on Tuesday.

The minister stated that the action was in accordance with President Bola Tinubu’s directive to restructure the Social Safety Net Programme in order to satisfy the ministry’s increased responsibility, which includes poverty alleviation.

The minister would preside over NASSCO, with Abel Enitan, the permanent secretary for humanitarian affairs, serving as secretary.

Others appointed include Abdulaziz Danladi (national coordinator), Micheal Ajuluchukwu (National Cash Transfer Office head), Janet Ekpenyong (NCTO deputy head), Richard Romanus (National Programme Manager of Youth Empowerment and Social Support Operations), Jamalu Kaburu (National Communication Manager, National Social Investment Programme), and Chidinma Makuachukwu (National Programme Manager, Renewed Hope Shelter Programme for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons).

Salia Sanusi Yusuff (Programme Manager, At Risk Children Programme), Joseph Nkang (Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme), Akindele Egbuwalo (Programme Manager, N-Power Programme, Renewed Hope Skills Acquisition Programme), Etcheri Ansa (National Alternate School Programme, out-of-school children), and Olubunmi Bello (National Project Manager, Community and Social Development Programme) are among those who have been named.

The minister challenged the new appointees with bringing their wealth of experience to bear in ensuring the success of Mr Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.

While assuring the appointees that their appointments would be effective immediately, the minister stated that there would be no place for excuses or failure to carry out the task.
