Four KWASU students detained for allegedly beating colleague to death

Police have detained four unidentified students from Kwara State University (KWASU) in Malete, Moro local government area of the state, for reportedly beating a fellow student to death.
According to Vanguard Correspondent, the students were arrested on Wednesday, however the event occurred the previous week at one of the private dormitories outside the university grounds.
It was said that the students descended on the deceased student, whose name could not be determined as of press time, for allegedly photographing them without their permission.
The victim was believed to be recording the four kids who were allegedly having a conversation when one of them noticed him.
The four students then approached him to ask why he was photographing them without their permission, to which he was unable to provide a’reasonable explanation’. Afterward, the four outraged classmates pounced on him for his actions.
A student who asked to remain anonymous told a Vanguard correspondent that “the victim later died from the severity of the beating meted out to him by the students.”
When reached, State Police Public Relations Officer Toun Ejire-Adeyemi (DSP) confirmed the event to our reporter late Thursday night.
According to her, “The alleged perpetrators were four, but I can’t confirm their names right now.” “They have been arrested while an investigation is ongoing,” she stated.
