FRSC jails man for driving with three tyres in Ogun
On Thursday, the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Ogun State, announced that it had detained and prosecuted the driver of a vehicle that was only equipped with three tires.
On September 4, a Toyota Camry was stopped on the Abeokuta-Sagamu expressway.
The Corps Marshal had earlier directed a complete crackdown on shaky vehicles on all of the country’s roadways, the DAILY POST has learned.
A patrol team from the FRSC, Ogun Sector Command, Abeokuta, intercepted the car with the license plate FFF 522 TK, according to FRSC spokesperson Florence Okpe.
According to Okpe, the driver was additionally “charged to court for driving a mechanically deficient vehicle.”
She claimed that when a recent video of a car travelling along the same Abeokuta-Sagamu road on three tyres went viral, the FRSC in Ogun increased its enforcement against unsafe vehicles.
Anthony Uga, the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, has meantime urged drivers to adhere to traffic laws and regulations and to avoid behaviors that endanger both their own and other road users’ safety.
