Gov Kefas appointed by PDP NWC to chair Bayelsa governorship campaign council

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has been named the head of the Bayelsa State National Campaign Council by PDP National Working Committee (NWC).

The announcement of the appointment was made to media on Sunday in Taraba’s capital city of Jalingo by Yusuf Sanda, the state governor’s chief press secretary.

In advance of this year’s November 11 governorship election, Kefas will lead the 122-member team to the state, according to the announcement.

The action is intended to mobilize support for Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State’s reelection campaign in the upcoming governorship election in the state, according to the statement.

The announcement proclaimed, “This significant national assignment is in recognition of the sterling leadership qualities and democratic credentials of Dr. Agbu Kefas, which have been praised both at home and abroad.”

According to the release, the Campaign Council would be officially launched on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Timipre Sylva, the leading opponent, will run for governor of Bayelsa on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), whereas Governor Diri will be running under the PDP banner.
