Gov Uzodinma resides in Abuja, abandons imo – PDP chieftain alleges

Governor Hope Uzodinma allegedly left Imo State for the Federal Capital Territory, or FCT, Abuja, according to Barr. Gozie Nwachukwu, a top PDP official in the state.
The accusations were made by Nwachukwu, a representative of the Imo PDP’s 2023 gubernatorial campaign, during an appearance on Arise Television on Friday.
He said that Uzodinma was in the FCT during the recent seven-day sit-at-home order imposed by supporters of the wanted Simon Ekpa while other governors in the area worked to regain the trust of the locals.
He claimed that the state lacks a leader to take charge of matters when there is a security problem.
He said, “What has been happening in Imo State has been so depressing. You could see the man from Anambra, you could see the governor of Enugu State Mbah on Monday going to market and other public places restoring confidence in the masses but what has happened in Imo is that, the state has been abandoned by the governor.
“The governor is no longer resident in the state. The man is now in Abuja. So what happens is that when there is security challenge, there is nobody to come out to speak to the people.
“During the seven days sit-at-home in Southeast, there was a meeting held by the Southeast leaders it was chaired by Imo governor in Abuja here”.
