Governor Umo Eno swears in 23 commissioners, others

Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, has sworn in 23 new commissioners and special advisers to help carry out his ambitious “Arise Agenda” economic plans.

With the exception of one, every appointee worked as a commissioner or special adviser in Mr. Eno’s predecessor, Udom Emmanuel’s, government.

Before resigning to run for governor, Mr. Eno was a commissioner for Lands and Water Resources in Mr. Udom cabinet.

He frequently referred to the freshly sworn-in commissioners as “my colleagues.”

The governor informed the new appointees that they already had a well-condensed roadmap to help them carry out the duties of their various offices at the swearing-in event, conducted on Thursday at Government House in Uyo.
