GSK Group folds up in Nigeria, to return capital to shareholders

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria PLC has been told by GSK UK Group of its plans to stop selling its prescription drugs and vaccines in Nigeria.

Nairametrics reports that the company sent a formal statement to the Nigeria Exchange Limited (NGX) that was signed by the company secretary, Frederick Ichekwai, to make this disclosure.

The company stated in its unaudited HY 2023 financial statement that it will designate a local Nigerian third-party distributor to handle the supply of its consumer healthcare products.
