Gunmen abduct 10 Nasarawa varsity’s students

Gunmen kidnapped ten students from the Federal University of Lafia in Nasarawa State on Thursday.

At around 2 a.m., gunmen invaded a students’ off-campus community in Gandu outside the institution’s permanent location and seized the students, according to reports.

The State Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Nansel Ramhan confirmed the incident but said the information on the development is still sketchy.
“This kidnapping details are sketchy. The command has tried to get facts and identity of the victims but to no avail thus, we are finding it difficult to authenticate,” he stated.

The institution’s Public Relation Officer, Mr. Abubakar Ibrahim, said the inventory of the students affect is being compiled.

He gave the number of those confirmed to have been kidnapped at press time to five.

“It is too early to ascertain the exact number of students because those affected are not living within the school but off campus.

“From available information the number of students abducted is between three to five. However the university is working hard to ensure all students live within the school campus”, he explained.
