Gunmen attack Ebonyi community, kill security officer, injure others

One security officer has been killed as gunmen stormed Ngboejeogu Central Security, a local security organization, in the Ngbo Court area of the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Ikechukwu Odono, the chairman of the council, verified this in a statement.

Odono expressed his sadness over the incident, pointing out that the gunmen stole a motorcycle, killed a female cop, and injured another. They also destroyed houses valued at millions of naira.

He bemoaned the wave of violence perpetrated by gunmen against security personnel in the council.

He offered consolation to the families of the security guards who were killed while performing their duties.

While investigations are ongoing, police will make sure the offenders are held accountable, according to the Ebonyi State Police Command.
