Gunmen attack Rivers community, kill five

Gunmen suspected of being cultists have killed at least five people in Ahoada area of Rivers State. 

On Sunday morning, armed men allegedly entered the Odiemerenyi Community in Ahoada East Local Government Area and opened fire on unsuspecting inhabitants.

At the time of filing this story, details about the occurrence were still unclear.

When approached by Platinum Times, Grace Iringe-Koko, the state Police Public Relations Officer, merely stated, “I will get back to you on this, please.”

According to a source, the killers were members of the wanted Iceland cult gang that murdered Ahoada Police Division DPO SP. Bako Angbashim.

According to reports, the criminals ambushed a police patrol van but missed their objective before storming the community and killing the victims.
