Gunmen storm Reps Member residence, set house on fire in Imo
Chief Canice Moore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu (Omeogo), a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing the Orlu, Orsu, and Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State, had his country residence razed on Thursday by unidentified gunmen.
According to Peter Anaele, a local source, the gunmen broke into the home in the early hours of Thursday morning at Isioma, Abara village, Amanator Okporo Community, in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.
He described what happened, claiming that the congressman wasn’t there when the shooters barged into his house.
He claimed that the criminals, who were armed with firearms, explosives, and other lethal equipment, rounded up the lawmaker’s domestic workers and held them at gunpoint before lighting the house on fire.
“They looted properties and valuables, made videos of the staff, and threatened more severe attacks. They then poured petrol, which they brought in with two 20-liter kegs, on the buildings and set the houses ablaze with explosives, bombs, and dynamites.”
Platinum Times gathered that the incident has thrown the community into panic and apprehension.
