Happening Now: Protests, unrest in Lagos over killing of truck driver

The Mile 2 axis of Lagos is currently experiencing chaos after security personnel killed a truck driver.

Around 8:15 on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, a Platinum Times Correspondent reported over the phone that “angry agberos (touts) have blocked the roads and are burning tyres.”

“Everywhere is blocked, and there is no movement between Mile 2 and Apapa,” he reported.

Guns began to boom as the police arrived while he was saying.

“Teargas has entered my eyes, and I can’t see clearly again!” Gunshots pierced the air, and a policeman could be heard telling the Special Correspondent to leave.

The reason the truck driver was shot dead in cold blood was not immediately evident.
