Senator Dave Umahi of Ebonyi South said that President Bola Tinubu was solely responsible and he didn’t lobby for his appointment as a Minister from his state.
According to NAN, Umahi pledged to work diligently to justify the trust placed in him and stated that he had no knowledge of the ministry to superintendent.
He addressed the media in Abakaliki after being welcomed by Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru.
The former governor expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for “fulfilling his promise during the trying period” and that he owed him a great deal.
“My governor (Nwifuru) should be happy because he wished for it,” Umahi said.
“I’ll work with the president to see that all of his commitments are fulfilled.
“I cannot choose the specific ministry to lead, but I will defend the exceptional and resourceful Ebonyi character.”
