In an effort to strengthen the ongoing passport reform process, Mrs. Caroline Adepoju, the acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has approved the immediate reposting of 15 passport officers.
This information may be found in a statement that Assistant Comptroller of Immigration and Acting Public Relations Officer Kenneth Kure released on Thursday in Abuja.
According to Adepoju, the NIS management was committed to improving passport handling both domestically and in foreign missions.
She reaffirmed the service’s commitment to making passport offices nationwide totally customer service-oriented.
Alausa and Festac in Lagos were two of the affected passport offices, along with those in Edo, Anambra, Bayelsa, Kogi, Nassarawa, Plateau, Enugu, Abia, Kano, Taraba, and Ondo, among others.
The acting CG insisted that from this point on, only the brightest minds who have fully embraced the maxim “service above self” will be posted to critical locations.
She explained, “This is so because our people deserve nothing less than the best.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mr. Usman Babangida, Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) in charge of Human Resources, signed the posting order.
