In fresh attack, gunmen storm UNTH, abduct Deputy Director, security officer

On Tuesday morning, armed hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers stormed the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) at Ituku Ozalla in Enugu State.
Earlier this year, a resident doctor was attacked by gunmen on the hospital grounds and kidnapped, but he eventually escaped from the kidnappers’ hideout.
Vanguard learned that the kidnappers allegedly kidnapped a female deputy director of the hospital and a security guard.
A viral video shows an abandoned SUV apparently belonging to the abducted woman, a nurse, with bullet-perforated glass on the front passenger side.
The police and hospital administration have yet to confirm the occurrence at the time of filing this article.
However, a reputable source who confirmed the story stated that it took place at the same site as a medical doctor was kidnapped a few weeks prior.
“This is so sad; we are not safe at all in this hospital; everywhere is porous,” a frightened staff member observed.
